Melbourne--> Sydney --> Gold Coast 2008 (Sydney)

17 May 2008...

I was really tired because we have been rushing and walking a lot during the day. However, there were children sitting behind us.. the noise that they make made us unable to sleep.. sigh

View during the train ride.. (notice the steam rising from the lake? I wonder if that is some sort of 温泉?)

Due to some delay, our train reached Sydney late by 2hrs..

Kai and I dragged our luggages.. and tried to search for our next accomodation - City Resort Hostel. The route is damn horrible.. We are unsure of the route to go to and there are slopes to conquer along the way!! I really bth.. but yet Kai wanted to quickly rush to Opera House so he could get the best shot before the afternoon sun appears. So Kai helped to drag my trolley bag while i carried my backpack + sling bag.. hehe...i really cannot make it whenever there is upslope..

After checking in, we left our barang x2 at the hostel (as our room is not ready yet) and walked to the direction of the Opera House & Harbour Bridge..

Opera House (Front, Side, Near & very very near VIEW!)

Yup... crazy kai has captured all angles of the Opera House (even night shot!)

Harbour Bridge:

You know what? The prettiest photos i felt are not any of the above but these:

I like this especially... The seagulls were all looking at the same direction.. this really needs good timing and good luck to capture *Hee..*

View from the Opera House:

Gorgeous..=D

As we walk towards Harbour Bridge...
There were many seagulls......

A PINK TRUCK!! Cute..

There are also street performers..

Three sweet kids watching the street performance too.. =)

Next, we went to The Rocks (A mini outdoor bazaar)

We had Turkish kebab & Baked Potato for lunch..

Souvenirs sold at The Rocks are comparatively more expensive than Queens Victoria Market.. luckily i bought most of the souvenir at QVM (that's why my luggage is so heavy!)..

Pk & I decided to take a ferry at Circular Quay to Darling Harbour so we could get a sea view of Opera House & Harbour Bridge... Then we will take the ferry once again back to view the night view of the Opera House & Harbour Bridge.

On the ferry to Darling Harbour, another tourism spot of Sydney

Ferry leaving Circular Quay..

Across the Harbour Bridge..

I like this picture taken by Pk.. 阳光、乌云和海浪的对照好美。。

This is one part of Darling Harbour..

We saw another street performance at Darling Harbour. It was interesting to watch the first performance but all the performances seems more or less the same. He also performed fire-eating... cant remember what else but it was not very interesting so we walked off to Chinatown after watching for a while.

四海一家牛车水在悉尼。。

There was nothing much to see as it was similar to other Chinatown so we walked straight through the streets and head to Paddy's Market for some shopping..

By the time we arrived, it was already evening time and some of the shops were already packing up to close shop.

I was feeling colder as we were constantly walking on the streets.. The winds were blowing into our faces too. On our way back, I had to stand behind PK so stronger him could help me block off the strong wind.

It was late so we hurriedly travel back to the harbour to catch the ferry and also took night shots of Darling Harbour..

Is this a solar boat?

Night shot of Darling Harbour & Opera Hse on our ferry..

The Opera House at night.. i prefer its night look =) Mysterious yet Pure..

A full moon =) Romantic...but... i was freezing cold when i reached the harbour.. the wind esp out at sea... the night coldness.. in addition to drizzle..
I could not wait to reach our hostel which we have to take the tram back and walk a distance to reach -_-" I was also worried about our safety as it was already late and the route to our hostel does not seem safe enough (i vaguely remember there are cameras installed at one part of our route back to our hostel, does it means the crime rate there is high?? *adding on to my coldness*)

Nonetheless, we reached our hostel safely.. hee..

We checked in to our small room (This is the worst accomodation of my entire trip.. i suspect the bed has bed bugs or some biting bugs cos' i was bitten by them when i was asleep..V_V)

Both of us were hungry as it was late and we have not had our dinner yet. We decided on Strand Bistro, somewhere near to where we stay.. In addition, we saw somewhere that there will be a 10% discount when we present our room key..

It was hard to spot this place as it was a pub cum eatery which we did not expect so..

Our dinner!! His Honey Mustard Chicken & My T-bone Steak!!! Sigh...there is definitely lack of communication btw our hostel and Strand Bistro. When we presented our key, they have entirely no idea that there was a 10% discount. So there was no discount at all.. anyway, the food wasn't so bad though.

18 May 2008...

We have another half day left to spend on Sydney before we head to our next destination - Blue Mountain....~~

In order not to waste any time, we woke up early in the morning and went to the kitchen to have our breakfast. Breakfast is so DIY..each room was issued with a blue box of utensils. Breads were left in the kitchen to be toasted on your own. I felt a bit uneasy to be sitting with strangers for breakfast. After our breakfast, we were supposed to make sure our utensils are clean before returning back during check-out.

We checked out and left our luggages inside the reception counter and took tram to Darling Harbour, embarking on our half hour walk to Sydney Fish Market.

PK was attracted by the morning view of Darling Harbour before our walk...

Seagulls drinking water.. so cute..

Tada! The Sydney Fish Market where we indulge in fresh sashimi, oysters and blue eye cod fish!!

All the seafood sold are fresh from the sea..
Being a seafood lover... how i wish i could try every single seafood there..

Oysters... drool...

LOBSTERS... drool drool...

AND ALL the SEAFOOD WITH SHELLS... !!

Well, the above are taken at the wet market area..
wheras this is the place to buy your fresh seafood and eat them!

Me staring at the Sashima tinking about what to order..

Not only selling fresh seafood but also grilled and bbq seafood..

The first food we bought is Sashimi from the..

They were really fresh..

And cheap too.. hmm.. didnt realise the sashimi we bought were actually quite cheap.. Anyway, if you noticed, our chopstick costs $0.15 cents each and the soya sauce & wasabi costs $0.20 cents each... if i knew, i would have brought my own from Singapore..

I think i must be seeing how thick a piece of sashimi is.

After Sashimi, we discovered a nice outdoor area for eating:

A harbour was behind us with boats & yachts.. clear sky.. good weather.. seagulls flying ard... heavenly sia..

These were on our table.. =P..

Finished!!

A pelican swam by while we were eating.. it adds on to the heavenly feeling..

A closer look

View from our seat..

On our way out, we saw this and i wanted to try one stick of fat seafood

At some point of the Sydney trip, we passed by a interesting park where there are people playing english chess..

Can you spot the rainbow?? It is my first time seeing rainbow reflecting out from fountain... wow...

It was late.. we had to rush to catch the train to Blue Mountain and in turn catch the explorer bus that ends its service in the evening.

It's the end of my Sydney blog and i will like to dedicate this to dearest PK who has helped to carry my barang barang with sweat & muscle.. =)

Thank you so much!
