The day that I start to be broke. . . . . .with a broken heart . . . .
1pm flight but I left home at 7.30am.
(I saw a horrified scene at my lift lobby! A half-naked women (bottom-naked) was half-squatting near the stairs. . .it seemed like she was treating that area as a toilet! Well obviously I didnt stare.. kept my cool. I seemed to be invisible to her and in a while's time, she walked off..)
9am 到达我以后即将就职的地方。11am Ah Xin's Bf drove me to airport. . The first time I saw her Bf =P
After lunching at Changi Kopitiam, 'grilling' on Ah Xin's Bf and entering the departure gate, we were on Jetstar aeroplane...........to Taiwan.........
Location: Tao Yuan International Airport (Formally known as C.K.S Airport)
Hurriedly, we collected our checked-in luggages, 'chiong' out from arrival gate & search for bus tickets counters like gan jiong spiders. (We wanted to catch the earliest train to Hualien - our 1st Stop)
On the bus, I saw this:
It is the head cover for every seats on 国光巴士. A lot of Taiwanese infected with pulmonary tuberculosis?? hmm...
7.38pm 自强号 successfully purchased!
5 hungry gals decided to search for 便当 as dinner on the train. Amazingly, 便当 at the train station was all sold out (at such an early timing). I vaguely remember someone told us 便当 wont be sold on the train so out of desperation, we bought bread for dinner. -_-" My first meal in Taiwan is bread, isnt that pathetic? (Later on, some of us got additional food at 7-11 & I bought 饭团~..missed that eversince Japan trip)
Yes. You did not see wrongly.. this is the 便当 I am talking abt. When we finished our bread & my 饭团, 1 train uncle passed by us, pushing a food cart!!!!!!!
What the ^#&$#!!^%&!!
(1) I spent $ on a improper meal and bought my last-on-the-list kind of food --> bread.
(2) This is one of the similar sway incidents that kept happening to us during the trip. We never get correct info from locals esp the first one we asked!
Anyway, the above 便当 belongs to Ah Cheng and she was very nice to leave some food for me to try. Thanks Cheng~
Location: Hualien (10.28pm)
民宿的老板娘已经在车站等我们了。 老板娘 is very cute.. short, a bit chubby with wavy hair...very chatty & friendly..
She led us to her car and drove us to our 1st 2 nights stay - 石头的家(民宿)。
Along the way, she entertained us by describing the streets and scenes we passed by etc..
Introducing our MarVellous Room that costs ard~$28.50/pax/night:
'WOW!' I tink was the reaction we all had.
Big + Clean + Pretty + good view + cheap + good service. What more can we ask for?
The Couple Room next door:
The couple room's bathroom was really nice so I took a photo with it,hahaa..
We didnt get to slp enuf cos
5 of us queuing up to bath...
Need to have a short discussion with 老板娘...
Watched tv and I surfed net...
Woke up at 5am to see sunrise (highly recommended by 老板娘)...
:: Hari Dua (24.05.2007 Thurs)
=The Tiring 5am Sunrise Scene=
It was exceptionally beautiful....I even captured a video of the sun slowly rising up. Imagine standing thr with your lover, basking under the first sunlight of the day (minus the tiredness & mosquitoes), wont that be romantic?
Scenes from our balcony:
After a date with the sun, I crawled back to bed.
But I could not fall into sleeping mode.. I can only fall into 半睡半醒 mode.
Dreamily, I hear ppl talking.. I recalled someone bathing..
I know im not dreaming. I have a grp of amazing travel partners, despite lack of slp, can still energetically stay awake after 5am. Normally I will be one of the first to wake up and get ready but with this grp, I have to be ranked at the back le. Luckily I still have a best fren (as said by them) called Ah Xin who was lying on the bed too.
BF at 8plus am. . .very full for a breakfast
Stone House's Doggy (Cant rem her name..)
我们的花莲导游叫陈广发先生。此天的行程是带领我们一路游览花莲东海岸。。。至台东。。。再倒驶回七星谭。
Mr Chen, a certified Hualien Tour Guide (as told numurous times by him, haha), was friendly & nice! Without him, we will be like lost lambs in Hualien..I must say everything was perfect except he could not really hear what we said. It makes me wonder.. 我的发音不够标准? Maybe it's some hearing problem? Anyway, wenever 文不对题, I will just -_-" so.. i decided to listen more & ask less. However, he's a great guide~ I do like him =)
Erm...... im a bit scared to pen down whr we went to cos......... it's super confusing... I will say Todae is a confusing. My frens will say Today is a tiring day. =P
第一站:花莲远雄悦来大饭店(Hualien FarGlory Hotel)
Frontview of Hotel
I was quite puzzled when he brought us to the most expensive hotel in Hualien. Hotel as one of the tourism spots? So funny...
Initially, I was tinking:" Why is it the most exp hotel?"
Answer is simple. This hotel 面山背海。。。。面向数山,背向太平洋海。
Cheapest room is NT6600 = ~$314/night
View in front of Hotel
View on the other side
Anyway to protect my frens' privacy, I wont put up too many photos with our faces on it,haha..
As we went down the hill, we passed by this:
海洋远雄公园。。
and this:
It's a school. 原著民 will go there to study but often they did not finish their studies cos the govt does give them a sum of $ every mth wen they reached a certain age. Therefore, I guessed studies are not that impt to them..
第二站:第十八号桥 (Seq may nt be correct..hahaa..due to my STM)
Mr Chen asked us to go down and walk.. that's all.. Actually im quite curious why it is called no.18 bridge.. is there 17 bridges b4 this bridge was built???
第三站:Just a cafe for resting...
The view...
I saw a unique green bug here and shoot it.. SCB's camera is gd!
Along the way to the next stop. . .
第四站:石门/石梯坪(拥有澳洲般风景)
Walking down the stone steps..
It was difficult for me cos I was wearing slippers..
Xie Xie to Ah Yi who always stand behind me and keep a lookout. Of cos Mr Chen too~
My Fav Crab.. =o)...
第五站:LUNCH !!!!!!
Just ard $10 per person and the whole table was filled with dishes!! I love the sashimi & the swordfish dish (not in the pic). Most dishes were fish dishes.. so it doesnt suit Ah Cheng's taste~I tink it suits me the best among the 5 of us.. haha
Temporary stops along the way:
长虹桥
你看得见孕妇吗?
北蛔归线(Tropic of Cancer)标志
The circle and line of this monument divides Hualien & Taitung (台东)
Mr Chen stopped his car in a way that I was in TaiTung & My frens that sat behind is in Hualien, hee..
A ship built into a church..
第六站:A Temple on a small hill, above a park (Not sure of its name..零岩 sthg)
Heading up...
I discovered beautiful flowers..... =D
Temple is inside a cave.. Many birds are flying above the entrance of the cave too..
Fortune telling machines are located outside the cave. Ah Cheng & Ah Lan went to try it out.. I captured down in video so unable to show it here. The fortune paper contains short description for many categories. Depending on what you prayed for, you will see the description under that category.
第七站:Another scenic place with Aussy view. Too many so I cant rem the name of this place too.. Mr Chen onli said once, how to rem?? =(
MR Chen's Head~
Him again~
My photographic skill actually quite not bad ah.. Hehe...=P
第八站:七星谭
Erm... now u know why I said my frens feel it's a tiring day. We been sitting in and out the car the whole day.
Nevertheless, it was a fruitful trip. Scenes u will nv get to see in Spore.
Next on the list is 七星谭. It is basically a stone beach. The whole beach is unlike ECP whereby sand is everywhr.. in here, stones are everywhr. You can find beautiful stones, odd shape stones..
In order to go nearer to the seawater, we removed our shoes and endured a free session of 脚底按摩! I nearly wanted to scream when I was walking back to retrieve my shoes.. it proves how unhealthy I am,hahaaa..
We are collecting stones for Stone Painting Exercise at night..
Ah yi collected many stones for her Dad (cos he collects stones) but due to the weight, Ah yi abandoned them in the end.
Oh ! I love HIM!! 河豚鱼(Globefish or Puffer Fish) HE is so so so so soooooooooo unbelievably cute~ Kawaii ne~
Ah Xin, whr is my video of me 'kissing' the Puffer fish??? I miss that.. haha..
Oh ya,I was the first brave soul to hold the cute fish on my hand. Well.. their pricks are not as sharp as needles thus holding on ur hand is absolutely all right. However, if you hold it for a while, 'dented holes' will appear on ur hands.
"Arent Puffer Fishes poisonous?" Eh.. Mr Chen didnt explain why but I suspect this breed might be non-poisonous or else the fisherman will not have let Mr Chen just take away one Puffer fish.
Lots of Puffer fishes were caught up tog with other fishes but Mr Chen said they cannot be eaten so their fate is to be thrown away. Ah Xin & I wanted to release the fish back to the sea but Mr Chen strongly objected to it. (1) The fishermans thr will be angry if they sees that. (2) Even if we threw it back, the fish will still die due to maximum expansion.
I am so sorry. . .
=...(
After all the above stops, we went back near to whr our 民宿 is. Mr Chan brought us to a 玉石店、muachee shop & 一间售卖红油抄手的店
好好吃。We also tried their Guotie.. bagus!
A secret shoot of the back of a very sexy 槟榔西施.
After a rest back at the 民宿, 老板娘 brought us to an aboriginal performance.
This photo is blur i know..but the performer on this photo is super super shuai!!!
He has the kinda mixed blood look. At first, I was tinking quietly in my heart:" hmm.. this guy quite shuai." After few performing items, Ah Xin turned over and tell me the same ting!
老板娘 told us A SIngaporean gal 特地 stay for another night just to take a photo with him!!
NanBing Night Market (a small market in Hualien)
Dinner: 猪血汤! + 盐酥鸡
Sadly, my frens gave me disgusted look everytime I ate funnie food. =(
烟花时间!!
How I wish I could put the firework videos that we have filmed here.
Everyone was like small kids tt night.. Wow, wah, 好美。。无法形容。。
Fireworks was so close to us.. and the best ting is we were the one to light them up!
We bought diff kinds of firework and slowly tried one by one..dun know who gave me the biggest incense & I nearly burnt Ah Yi with the efficiency of my incense on the spiral firework,keke..
It was already quite late but we still have one last task to do. STone Painting~
Materials will be the stones that we collected from 七星谭..
Result will be like tis:
Ah Xin's stone
I only managed to sleep at 2 plus am.. Yawn =O
