:: The Patong Beach ::

Patong Beach, a touristy beach is near to our hotel. We took a stroll along the long beach after lunch.


Can you spot a rainbow? Interestingly, this section seems to be designated for a certain group of people and we saw pairs of them lying on the beach seat.

:: PARASAILING ::

SCB Preparing to Parasail~!

Yes! She's up there and a binocular will be useful here. The weather is definitely not the most ideal weather for parasailing but SCB had fun nonetheless.

Why isn't there any photo of me parasailing? I didn't get the chance to do it. I was hesitating if I should and finally decided to do it during night time to get a night view. But it was too late after our shopping!! Nvm..来日方长. .Even though i did not get to parasail, the parasail rope rubbed against my skin when SCB landed. I was really silly to assume that the rope will cross over my head (wrong estimation!) and it ended up hitting just where i was! Silliness aside, I missed filming her landing due to the 'collision' and also missed her take off moment as the video filming time of my dear friend's camera ended just before her take-off! URGH!! What a moment!!

:: Phi Phi Lay - Maya Bay (Snorkelling Package) ::

On the bumpy boat ride


Maya Bay is crowded with tourists! It should.. because it's one of the famous filming site for the movie starred by Leonardo Dicaprio - 'The Beach'. Our boat has lotsa of couples from difference countries ie. Korea (couple that looks like 黑社会老大and小姐）, Italy? (intimate couple) etc. yes! I'm people-watching but what is there to do on a boat except to watch the sea & people??

Maya Bay's toilet is so interestingly separated!! Hahhaa... the female toilet is of course indoor & the male toilet is OUTDOOR! I feel so paisei just taking a look inside.. and this photo is taken secretly =P Can you spot the urinals in the picture?

Maya Bay is super crowded due to the large amount of tourists. Both of us wonder if the sand and the sea will still be so clean & beautiful few years down the road if it continues to be so packed with tourists everyday . . . Hmm...

It's high tide so we are unable to step on the beach. However, we witnessed the tour guide throw watermelons to the monkeys on the tree branches. It's a pity we didn't get to feed the monkeys ourselves but did so in other tour packages~ =)

:: Snorkelling ::

Although our package is a snorkelling package, i did not enjoy the snorkelling part as much as SCB. It's her first time but my third time already. Snorkelling at Redang and Tioman Islands were much more enjoyable with more to see and experience. The water here is not very clear and fishes at the second snorkelling venue were fierce with dead corals! In conclusion, I enjoyed the sight-seeing instead but i feel proud that SCB was able to snorkel under my coaching !! :P

:: Phi Phi Don ::

It's Lunchtime at Phi Phi Don right after snorkelling.. we were so so so drenched. . .

Buffet-style Food was okay but not exactly delicious. There's rice, spaghetti & fries, catered for both Asians & Caucasians.

Pls note that this is not a Jetstar advertisement. SCB always does crazy matter with me,hahhahaa!

:: Khai Nui Island ::

Our tour guides who are preparing fruits for us~ The lady tour guide is quite hilarious~

Look at the number of bench seats!! Each pair of bench seat costs 150 baht and this is the view from the bench seat we are comfortably lying on ^_^

This was the last part of the package. It was simply rest n relax on the beach or snorkelling. The couple besides us went snorkelling and came back with fishes bites. Daring SCB hopes to go and she suffered from fishes bites too . . Sigh . .what a place that was opened for snorkelling !

Another interesting part of the trip is to the opportunity to chat with other tourists from other countries. A curious Msian/SPR approached us and asked if we are Singaporeans! On the way back to the hotel, i had a nice chat with a couple from China while SCB chatted with an guy from India.

:: ATV Ride (Raft 'n' Ride Package) ::

Lala.. this is the best activity i have experienced in this trip cos' i have been wanting to try this for a long long time. (I will get the chance to do it again during my Korea Trip in Jan'11, Yeah!) For those who are adventurous, this is worth a try!

We took a 1 hour + van ride to reach our destination. After a short demo on the operation of the All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), each of us got hold of an ATV and get on for our 1 hour ATV ride.

The engine of the ATV will start using your thumb to push the accelerator located below the handle. It does sound very simple to operate but it's not! First and foremost, the control of your speed is based on how far you pushed your accelerator. An hour of continuously pressing the acceleration is no joke. I shifted my thumb numerous times and even tried to use other part of my hand to press the accelerator. Towards the end of the ride, my thumb was numb and swollen red, 简直苦不堪言.

BUT . . . I still enjoyed the ride despite the thumb torture!! The scenery i seen during the ride was so beautiful that i felt it was definitely worth the pain (but of course i hope i know the correct tactic to press so my thumb need not suffer.. or did i really press correctly?) We rode through rivers, mountain views, rubber tree plantations, palm trees, forest, roads.... as well as rocky, sandy and muddy paths. The fun part is the navigation part which is exciting yet dangerous. The amount of speed coupled with the right direction will guide your ATV to pass by the obstacle. However, 你一稍微不留神，就可能翻车了。This is what happened to me.. i was distracted and my ATV steered into the wrong direction, rode up a sloppy wall and viola, my ATV overturned! I fell off flat on the sandy floor and wounded my arms and knees.

You can see my stressed face. . this part of the journey is one of the difficult journey to get thru and yet they choose this section to take a photograph! I was so worried my ATV will turn into the river besides me and i will say BYE BYE~

Yes! We completed the 1 hour ride~

Training Time! Why does my neighbour looks like a motorbike learner instead?

I thought we were be sitting inside the raft but to my dismay, we were taught to sit on the edge of the raft!

Practice and Fun Time! Our companions are from Aussy and they were great. Practice is not exactly practice because our VERY mischievous rowers were just splashing water to us and dragging us into the water! It was fun though.

If you noticed, i was not rowing at all,hahahaa.. opps! feel quite embarrassed to admit it. =P I really wanted to row but the front and the back rowers were completely navigating our raft! They keep rafting our raft towards rocks and boulders, making us fall forward and backward constantly! I was afraid that my paddle will accidentally knocked off the people ard me everytime we have collision with the rocks hence i decided to give up rowing (anyway, it did not really makes a diff even if i do row~)

Our raft ride ended next to a road side and all of us have to step on the grass and then road pavement barefooted. I felt like a native at that moment~ A van came to pick us up but SCB & I choosed to sit on the stack of rafts (to be exact, it's 3 raft!), Hell of a ride! It was so high and scary as the van dragged the rafts towards our final destination!

:: A Visit to Monkey Cave ::

Our Raft 'n' Ride guide took us to this place with many monkeys roaming around!! We bought peanuts to feed them.

With peanuts on your hand, monkeys will come running to you no matter where you are.

There was a golden buddha cave hence we went in to take a look. My dad used to take us to such places in Malaysia when i was a young girl.

:: Canoing down Sok River (Elephant Hills) ::

This is the first activity we did upon arrival at Elephant Hills (2 days 1 night stay of rainforest experience). It was a tranquil 1 hour and 30 mins canoe ride which we simply sit back and enjoy the scenic environment presented in front of us. We could view seaweeds beneath the partially clear river and the rower pointed a black and yellow snack hanging on a tall tree beside the river.

The river cruise includes a tea break where we rested at a place and be served with tea/coffee. The above is set up by the rowers for boiling of water~

We could also swim at our rest stop. Rope swings were tied on the trees which we could use to swing ourselves into the water!

There was a cute Aussy boy in our group and he really loves to talk! He even came to talk to SCB and I and lent us his binocular, haha.. However, his accent was too strong for me to grasp what he was talking abt most of the time.

:: Elephant Ride ::

Our elephant is called Pubu~ I was very excited to have the chance to ride on her! :P Little did i expect the ride to be so bouncy! Our bodies kept moving back and fro, up and down! Pubu stopped several times during the trek and the rider seems to have a hard time getting her to move sometimes. Most of the time, the rider used his feet to navigate the elephant but if the elephant is rebellious, they will use a sharp object to poke behind the elephant's ears... shiver finds it a bit cruel to do so although the elephant skin is pretty thick. Riding the elephant even allows us to witness her poo and shhhh.. hahaha.. the amount is a lot! At the end of the trek, we rewarded Pubu with a basket of fruits and tipped our rider.

Yup! I'm feeling pretty excited. It's a great feeling to stand on a bamboo raft.. I love the 大自然 environment! Each of us hold on to a bamboo stick to better aid in our trekking~

Plenty of bamboo shoots! According to the guide, it is advisable not to touch the bamboo shoot because small hairs on the shoot will stick on your skin.

The guide demonstrated the extraction of latex from the rubber tree.

The guide revealed that her family members are rubber plantation workers too. Workers will have to wake up at 2am, the time which they could extract the most amt of latex. If you have never smell rubber latex before, i can tell you my experience - it's VERY VERY SMELLY!! The guide said the latex is used to make car tyres and . . . . condoms!

It's 2011 !!

It's the first day of the year! =) I wish everyone a joyous and memorable year ahead!

2010 is quite a bad year for me.

I went through so much emotional upheaval.

There were tears, sadness and breakdowns.

It's definitely an experience that i would never want to go through again.

It hurts deeply and despite admitting that i have been through so many different life experiences and takes hardship well, this is a blow too much for me to experience.

If i can turn back time, i wish i could make a different choice and change my fate.

Looking ahead, i do not know what to expect and did not set any new year resolution. However, i sincerely hope that i can carry out my life motto:

"To be Happy in everyday of my life"

and

"To take each downfall as a learning experience of my life"

Thanks to my dear friends who gave me constant support in 2010. *hugs*

I'm so glad to know all of you as my close friends who are always there for me..

(you know who you are =P)

All my favorite food!

If you are driving to Jonker Street, do remember to park a distance away and walk a bit to Jonker street. Otherwise it will be quite difficult to get a parking space near Jonker street. My dad parked near a police station (which we joked that it will definitely be safe) and we walked about 10 mins to Jonker street.

Jonker 88 (inside Jonker Street) - famous for their chendol! We already had our chendol before we saw this.

One cold discovery - ICE EGG! They have many flavors to choose from. It's very popular because the stall was crowded with people trying to buy this (probably the weather was hot too). We wanted to try this the night before but most of the nice favors were completely sold out. Lychee favor is nice!

I was really looking forward to eating Lok-Lok and finally i get to eat it. Little did i know these Lok-Lok caused all of us to have food poisoning. Sigh... After this food poisoning incident, i would not want to touch Lok-Lok anymore.

This trip was a relaxing trip but it's a pity i did not get the chance to visit some of the places i wanted to visit such as St Paul Hill & Church, the baba-nonya museum and left the trip with a food poisoning experience for all of us (except my Dad who surprisingly has a strong stomach!). However, it was a good time spent with my family members :)

Sky sinks into depression again

How does it feel to see a cheerful and greedy dog becoming a moody dog who rejects his food?

*Scary* especially when your dog is the greediest dog you have ever seen.

Sky sinks into depression again.

Yah, it's the 3rd or 4th time that he is depressed/scared. And he treats us like strangers!

I remember the first time when he is in this 'dun come near me' mode, we were so worried. So worried that he is sick hence we took him to the vet. We waited patiently for our turn while we chit-chat with other owners holding their ill dogs.

The vet checked Sky and asked us:"Is there any changes at home recently?" My first tot was:" huh? Why did the vet ask us this qns?" In the end, the vet told us Sky is perfectly ok and she guessed he has been traumatised by some matter...

天啊！原来狗也会受惊吓的！

Sky 大约在一个星期内康复了。感觉上，他好像患了忧郁症。。。

这一次，他又忧郁了。可是我们不清楚原因。我一度怀疑是不是我又一次不小心踩到他的尾巴，吓倒他了？？？

食物放在他面前，他的头避左避右。
昨晚，他还躲进狭窄的鞋架里，躺在那里，一动也不动。
他的尾巴也不怎么摇了。

于是，我决定用当初我看见兽医所用的一招！
硬把食物塞进他的嘴里！！
多怕他会咬我。。（虽然他从来没有咬过人）

成功了！因为我的‘硬塞’功，经不起诱惑的他终于吃下我硬塞进去他嘴里的狗食！接着，他也开始慢慢吃下我喂他的狗食了。 =）

现在他看起来好一点了。。希望他明天会更好。。

15 Words of Inspiration

Recently when I was reading i-weekly on an interview of 2 celebrities, there were 15 words in the article that impacted me.

这15个字很简单但是感觉真的好有‘力’。。。

* 能忍人所不能忍，必能为人所不能为 *

原本是想把这15个字记录下来，提醒自己要坚强、遇到困难要积极面对。。。却使我想起一件昨天发生，让我超级火大的事情。

一位同事激怒了我。

满讨厌这位同事的EQ。一件需要澄清的小小事情，她无礼的语气彷佛意味着我上辈子欠她似的。最后，她连‘再见’都没说就挂了电话。对！‘她Kap我的电话’！

*ROAR*

这一生，第一次有一种想在心里‘boycott’一个人的感觉。几位同事都劝我别放在心上因为她的人就是这样。最讨厌的是，这已经不是第一次她那么 @&#&^#@%#了。

不说了。我知道再一阵子，我就淡忘这件事了。（虽然我觉得我应该记得，因为我不想再对她表现友善的态度了。。）

真是一个讨厌的人。

这15个字正好可以克制我的坏情绪，让我感觉舒服一点。

不过，我还是觉得她真是一个讨厌的人。V_V

A Beautiful Journey

On every work day, i have to walk 10-15 mins from home to PN Mrt and another 10-15 mins from PL Mrt to my workplace.

Many people have told me:"It's amazing you can travel like this everyday."

Yes, i need to spend about 2.5-3 hrs per day simply on travelling. I must admit it's tough and there are moments which i feel really tired travelling like this.

Instead of pitying myself, i have this thinking:
"Since i can't change the situation, I can change my mindset~"
A very powerful thinking i have derived from working in my current job :)

As i walked out of my flat, i realised that a whole new day started as i walked through the green and clean environment. I appreciated the clean cool air and once in a while, i will lift up my head and enjoy 头上绿意盎然衬托着蓝天白云的景象。

心灵感觉平静。。。

走着走着，

Eh! 他又扶着脚踏车在路边等他的女朋友！
女朋友出现了。她放心的坐上脚踏车的后座，扶着准备踏上路途的他。

甜蜜的感觉溢出心底。。。

接着走过体育场，
一群 aunties 风雨不改汇集一起随着音乐跳舞。
有时候她们跳的好像是韵律舞，有时候像民族舞，有时候还带着cowboy hat 跳起牛仔舞！
运动的不只是她们，还有她们身边各式各样的人。有些在跑步，有些在做暖身运动。

我开始有点提起精神了。。

坐在地铁车厢看个书、回个简讯、查阅新闻、睡个小觉。。。。。
Oh, 目的站到了。

天空比较亮了。

如常地出站，转右，然后走在最喜欢的路线前往公司。

我喜欢这个路线因为有一排绿树与相对的旧商场凝成一股怀旧自然的味道。
时不时一只慵懒的猫出现会让我微微一笑 ^-^

路线延伸到一条凹凸不平、枯叶分散遍地的道路。
不完美中却让我幻想自己回到过去旧时代的道路，蕴藏着历史的旧道路。

喜欢散步，喜欢自然，喜欢宁静，喜欢朴实。。原来我每天经过的路反而能赋予我提高精神的力量。

庆幸我的工作环境独一无二。=)

我工作的一天就这么开始了。

珍惜每一天。。

Taiwan Trip 2010 - Part Two

乌来

My dad was not feeling too well so things did not really carried out as planned... but the scenery was pretty awesome.

It was a 40mins bus ride up hill again! The bus can be taken from a bus-stop near 新店站.

Along the route, there were beautiful views.. Here's the view of our alighting point:

Actually i wanted to go to 泰雅民族 museum but there was insufficient time. By the time we reached, it's already lunchtime!

So skipped to the next plan which is to go 乌来老街 and try 泰雅婆婆 food~

He was standing right in front of 泰雅婆婆 shop.. dressed in Taiya costume and with RED lipstick!! I wanted to ask him why he has lipstick on his lips? Is it a custom in Taiya tribe? But i didn't have the courage to do so =P

I saw the friendly photo of 泰雅婆婆 in the guidebook but when i was there, 泰雅婆婆 was just sitting there and rather a younger lady was serving us.. since it's 泰雅婆婆 shop, i have to capture a photo with her too:

很纯朴的天然菜肴。。蛮喜欢它天然的口感。。the meat is tasty.. the chicken skin has a thick layer of fat beneath.. the crispy mini fish and mini prawn from the lake..the fresh veggie..mmmmmmm........

泰雅婆婆 is not the only eatery that sells the above food. As we walked down the street, we noticed many other similar eateries.

The 冰温泉蛋 is a 小吃 not to be missed too.. the soft and semi solid yolk.. wow..

I wanted to go take a look at the 露天温泉 too but decided to skip it and head directly to 乌来瀑布.

There's 2 ways to travel uphill to see the 乌来瀑布:
(1) By 乌来观光台车
(2) By foot via the 情人布道

To my surprise, my daddy wanted to walk instead!! 觉得不舒服的他希望能走走好逼他的汗出来...

it's quite a pleasant walk =) because of the graceful scenery of Wulai you are able to view along the track..the cool and good weather... and the fresh air.. but do note you will be walking alongside the roadside (but not many cars passed by though)

We sat in front of the waterfall for a while and enjoyed our 古早味冰棒 (bt not very nice to eat though)!

原本我是满期待能去云仙乐园 which is even higher than where we were at. The main tourist transportation up is via cable car.

One of the main reasons to go there is to join its Night trail to view 萤火虫! I was rather excited about it as i like to participate in such nature trails.

In the end, we can't head up due to my dad's medical condition and phobia of height. The cable car ride is relatively high which he feels he won't be able to take it so we decided to head back to Taipei and visit Shilin market..

Downhill we go via the 台车 back to bus-stop and then to Shilin. . . . .

士林夜市

There's nothing more i can say because anyone who has been in Taipei must have visited Shi Lin market. No doubt about that~

It's a wonderful market with all kinds of taiwan food. The only bad thing is its bad ventilation - which means by the time you walk out of the place, you smell! Haha..

This time round, i did not try the 超大鸡排 which nv fail to have a queue. (i don't really feel the 鸡排 is nice too..) I tried grilled sticks of mushroom, bacon, chicken heart (see pic above). Yes, i really love the chicken heart.. grilled chicken heart is so delicious!

Once you are out from the entrance of Shi Lin market, you can turn left and walk straight, across the road to 文林路 and 基河路 - The Shopping Haven!

I was so happy when i saw a shop called 东京著衣! I adore the clothes there! It's comparatively cheaper and it's the style that i like. So.. my poor mama has to wait for me while i tried on several clothes.. 然后我一口气买了七件物品！！

It's a long stretch of shops on both side of the road. Both of us were so tired hence we did not managed to comb the whole stretch..

Besides shops, there are also food stalls in the middle of the street. I had 花生卷冰淇淋。。。
erm............ can give it a pass. Or rather the ice-cream quality that the vendor provides is really of lousy quality. Somehow the ice-cream is not sweet and tasted plain.

We da bao this back to the hotel & had a nice supper with my Dad. . . both my Dad and I love
this! You can choose different parts of chicken, duck etc available and all are in 卤味. Since young, i have been 'trained' by my dad to eat bony parts like feet, neck and i simply love them now (=P)

野柳

To get to Yeliu, you can board a bus at Taipei Main Station. It's pretty confusing and when i reached Taipei main station, i did not know which direction i should head to as there were routes to all directions!

After clarification with the train station personnel, we entered the underground mall towards the direction of Area Z3 (there were several different areas with different bus).

After a 1 hr plus ride, we alighted upon the announcement by the bus driver.

This is an obvious sign which indicate the way to walk in to Yeliu~

Hee.. i realised the view before we reach Yeliu is really quite scenic

Well, Yelliu Geopark is full of odd-shaped rocks (due to sea erosion), such as mushroom shape, candle rocks, pot holes, chessboard rocks. For me, it's not simply admiring the different shapes of rocks that were formed due to natural power, it's also the 'carefree' background scenery that 衬托 the rocks.

The not-to-be-missed item is certainly the Queen's Head 女皇头!

From a certain angle, the rock looks like a queen's head and that is how it got its name. However, its neck area is getting thinner and one day, its head will drop off. As such, they made a second queen's head in replacement of the orginal queen's head should it drop off one day:

我碰到了一件怪事。一件被人骂的怪事。

It's so horrible why such angry people exist in this world? That they are so 计较 about the small small matters in life..

My parents were already posing in between 2 mushroom rocks and i was about to take a photo of them (I am already at the stage of using my index finger to press the shutter button). . .

An uncle appeared out of nowhere and bend down right in front of where i was standing. He is definitely a barrier to the photo i wanted to take hence i walked up to his back,lightly pat on his shoulder and said this at the same time:" 不好意思，我正在拍照，你可以让开一下吗？”

A lady who was standing beside this uncle suddenly turned towards me and scolded me!!! She scolded right into my face that this is a public place and i have no right to ask a person to get off so i can shoot a photo and she went on and on..

(SHOCKED) i looked at her.. not wanting to pick up a fight hence i explained to her in my CONTROLLED nice tone that my parents are already positioned nicely and i was just telling the uncle politely to step aside for a while so i can take the photo ( and pls.. the uncle was bending his body, his back in front of me (who knows what he is doing, maybe tying his shoes lace?) and who knows how long do i have to wait for him to know he is blocking someone and how long he is going to leave his spot???!)

And yes, she does not take my explanation as a valid reason and continued to scold me. However, i do catch one very nice statement :"你不要以为你漂亮就可以。。。。"

I ignored her and she walked away. As she walked past the hole in between the 2 mushroom rocks where my parents were standing, she continued to scold and said that i'm inconsiderate blah blah blah.

(-_-)" Yes, i did shout back she is very 无聊 (and i really tink she is super 无聊)

The above scenerio happened in a snap and what were the uncle (who blocked our photo-shooting) and my parents doing?

My parents... they were totally puzzled on what is going on (as they were standing at a distance) and then when they realised the lady seems to be scolding me ridiculously, they told me to ignore her. My dad was so damn funny as he tried to console me by telling me that the lady must have just 失恋. I added to his joke and said:" The uncle must be her BF and she's not happy that i touched him."

The uncle... He must be the most blur person in the world! He has no idea that we are quarrelling over him and my parents told me he just walk off like that. . . . . *roll eyes*

From the beginning, we should have really woke up earlier and reach Yeliu at an earlier timing. Otherwise, our visiting timing will not have coincide with the numerous China tour groups touring the place.

As i mentioned, there were many tour groups and thus there were many people!

We have to queue in order to take a photo with the famous Queen's head.

And it's another maddening situation again!

(@&(Y(#@Y&^!) Damn inconsiderate. I even said out loud to my mother who is preparing to take my photo that many ppl are cutting my queue!! Then the old uncle in front of me just simply turn his head back and smile...... *sigh* dun wana argue with old people. 算了。

My dad is the smartest! He does not want to squeeze with the queue and walked around on his own. Why do i say he is the smartest? He did not even need to queue and had a photo with the Queen's head too!!

Hahahhaaa.. smart Dad~

Heading from Yeliu to Jiufen is really a headache. Has been searching on different forum and it seems quite hard to spot the right place to alight & change the bus to Jiufen.

From Yeliu, walk back to the bus-stop where you alighted and cross the road to the bus-stop outside a convenience shop. From there, you can take a Keelung bus. Do be aware that there will be cab driver persuading you to take their cab to wherever you want to go. I did not ask for their rate but they are quite annoying and persuasive... ended up the keelung bus arrived when i was a bit tempted,hehe..

When you board the bus, do highlight to the bus driver where you are going and seek for his help to inform you the right stop to alight and change the bus to Jiufen.

In Singapore, it will be best for you to sit near to the bus-driver if you have sought for his help for the right place to alight. In Taiwan, you need not have to do so as some bus-driver have a mike to announce the stop that you are intending to alight. For some, they shout it out.

Thereafter, you will need to cross an overhead bridge to the bus-stop across the road which is diagonally opposite the Keelung station. You will also see this clinic behind the bus-stop (which does not look like a bus-stop)

(Despite doing so much research, it's always a diff scenerio when you reached there. Firstly, i could not spot the clinic and was puzzled if the sheltered area we reached after crossing the bridge was a bus-stop? There were no bus-stop poles similar to other bus-stops. As such, my parents and I crossed the road to the keelung station only to be told by the counter gal that the place we were at is the right bus-stop! It's was def not an obvious bus-stop at all! Afterwhich, then we realised that the bus-stop destination were all stated at the front top section of the shelter where only people outside the shelter will see V_V)

Remember to board the bus heading to 金瓜石! (the LED sign on top front of the bus will state 金瓜石)
(I emphasize on tis because we took the wrong bus!! But luckily we got a bus transfer at a stop where 金瓜石 bus passed by too. . . *sigh*)

You may then alert the bus-driver where you wish to alight (Jiufen 老街).

How would you know you have reached the Jiufen old street? It's quite obvious as there is a corner sign stating that the street you are heading into is Jiufen old street.

This is the second time i have been to Jiufen. Absolutely love this place because of its 古色古香 street, its vast variety of food and 手信 you can get here........~ I wanted to get the animal ear-ring i bought at this place 3 years ago but i can't locate the shop anymore!!

There are many food you should really try here! We didn't try all the famous food as we have eaten some food in other areas and wanted to just try food we have tried yet. Even a simple bowl of soup with 鱼丸 is delicious~

This is the place where i will get 太阳饼 from 李仪饼店 for my friend~ It was recommended by my close friend during my trip in 2007.

Besides food, the special part of Jiufen is their handicraft shops

One shop which i have heard of from the internet is 是诚陶笛。

They sold flute in all sorta of cutel designs!!! There are tortoises, birds, cars etc..
yup! Did support him but the flute is damn hard to master due to my small finger which cant completely cover the holes at times..

With all our barang barang, we climbed down the narrow stairway alley out of Jiufen to a bus-stop and took a long bus journey back to Taipei where we took the tram back to our hotel..

袖珍博物馆

YES! Finally fulfilled my wish to visit this place~

I wanted to visit this museum in 2007 but due to our tight and tiring schedule, we did not visit this museum in the end.

What can you see at The Miniature Museum of Taiwan?

Dolls House + Miniature art pieces of interior furnitures & designs . . . .
(there were also barbie dolls on display with its family tree)

Before entering the museum, we went to the lobby to purchase entrance tiks:

It looks so real, exactly like the lobby i was at!

Different style of miniature houses of different countries were on displays which includes their inner room displays. Owing to my camera's limited ability (with glass reflection and lighting issues) and its loss of battery towards the end, it was hard for me to capture the delicate intricate details of each artpiece.

Towards the end of the exhibition was a display of miniature pieces from a competition .The theme was to build a magical space which they truly hope for.

Some were really creative.. there were a batman room, sea room, converse shoes room, room with pillars decorated with $$$ and so on.

Before we head to 五分埔，my mum and I had a wonderful meal at a Japanese restaurant. (As my dad was not feeling too well, he did not join us on this day of the trip)

It's was truly a delicious meal that does not match up to its price!
I order the above set which includes the beef, the whole basket full of veggies, mushroom, dumplings, tofu & Prawn! There were also beancurd skin with udon.....all for just a price of <$14.

It's was evening time when we headed back to XMD to meet Dad for dinner..

We walked different street to find something which 3 of us will like to have..

My dad was telling us abt his nice and cheap korean lunch in XMD with free drink and unlimited rice top-up ! Seems like all of us had delicious lunch in Taipei today.

Finally we decided on a eatery which sells mini steamboat and 臭豆腐 which my mum was a bit afraid to try when she heard of it.

I get to try duck's blood (which tasted abt the same as pig's blood) !! Actually i wanted to eat a steamboat buffet in Taipei ~ but my mum said:"no" cos she will not be able to eat the amount worthy of its price. So.. this will at least satisfy my steamboat craving~

不是很臭的臭豆腐。。。

If you are planning to visit Taiwan, please remember to go to Taiwan Visitors Association in UIC Building! If you go there with your air & hotel ticket booking confirmation slip, they will give you a free gift~If i'm not wrong, their free gift changes every 3 months. I was given a free Easy Card with a value of NT50 (akin to Singapore's Ezlink card) and free entrance ticket to National Palace Museum (故宫).

In order not to waste the ticket, we went to National Palace Museum in the morning. I bet my parents must be bored to death... (i know they are bored to death especially my Dad) It's definitely not a place where everyone will appreciate going. A place which displays imperial collections from 新石器时代 to 清朝... explaining the different types of carving used in different dynasties.. etc

Amazingly, one of the most famous pieces there is a cabbage (with an insect on it)! Carved on a jade, part of the description of this jadeite cabbage goes like this: "it embodies a perfect 3-in-1 union of intrinsic nature, human creativity and symbolic significance."

No photography is allowed inside National Palace Museum so i won't be able to show photo of any imperial piece.

But here's the exterior view of the whole place (it's like a palace!!):

it makes me wonder if this dustbin will accumulate rainwater if it rains heavily one day?

Underground Mall

Today was some sort like a R&R day because it's the last day before our departure day. My mum and I headed for some last minute shopping at underground mall in Taipei Main station. You can find tons of cheap shoes here! And we fell into the shopping trap and bought more shoes! We also tried more local foods - 葱油饼 and 红油抽手

葱油饼 is surprisingly not bad.. although i didn't wana try in the first place
BUT 红油抽手 is a great disappointment.

I missed the one i had with my sec sch clique at 花莲 which our tour guide highly recommended and brought us there................

We ended the day with a simple dinner at the Korean eatery which my Dad likes~

I ordered this. The meat are on top of a dome-shaped pot and are to be bbq-ed there. The 'stream' around the dome shape is used to cook the veggies and tofu..Yummy~

Interestingly, both eateries which we visited provides free flow of drinks and tissue (self-service). The lady boss is also very friendly. Definitely worth the price!

The day of departure from Taipei back to my Home Sweet Home. My mum and I had a hard time squeezing all our new clothes, shoes, food, souvenirs into our own bags (with help from my Dad).. but we managed to do so! Making use of all the available space.. boy! There was not a teeny weeny single space left in our bags~

Not wanting to drag our heavy bags up the tram and travelled to another place to catch the freego bus to the airport, i decided to splurge my left-over $ on the hotel car service. I also hope that my parents will have a comfortable ride to the airport. The car driver was a chatty guy and told us that a family from Singapore has booked his service for their entire trip! it's def not cheap for a full day service in Taipei where everywhere is so accessible by public transport .. must a rich family sia

Here i shall end my Taipei trip post with a cat ornament from Jiufen~
I love it and it makes me cheery whenever i took a peek at her from my work desk =D

all her bubbly children were talkin to me wif enthusiasm..i know they are happy to have new furniture n a clean fresh room environment.. if i have e chance to help, i will love to help out too!

hope their family bond will remain strong n their children will grow up n achieve whatever goals they have in life :)

My second time to Taiwan 2010...
It's fairly different this time round as i was there with my parents to experience the culture, weather & FOOD!

7days 6nights are spent solely in Taipei and my goal is to visit places which i have not visited the last time ^-^ Really feel rather proud of myself for planning the whole trip and leading my parents around all on my own .. hoho...

My first time on a Cathay Pacific flight!!
食物好吃！

However, their entertainment system is not what i expected to be..
I thought it will be like SIA flight..
but it's not.. movies & drama start once the air plane takes flight & you can't stop it, replay, rewind whatsoever..

Upon arrival at Taoyuan airport, my mum & I had to take the airport tram from T1 to T2 to meet my Dad who is flying from HK.

Wait...wait...wait...

Dad finally appeared!

We then proceeded to the bus ticket area with many bus companies booth..
I approached Freego as the internet states that freego goes to our Royal Castle hotel but to my dismay, the counter lady told me the bus service direct to Royal Castle ended at 3+ pm!!! She advised me to take their bus to somewhere in Taipei and then take a cab to our hotel -_-"

Super sian when i heard what she said..

what to do？？but to buy their tik & do what she said (since no other bus company travel to our hotel)..

BUT i was lucky!! Or rather the bus stand guy is so nice!! When i told him where we wanted to go, he said:" Ok, the bus will take you directly to your hotel.." HOHOHOHOoooooooo..........save me a sum of ($$$_$$$)
[However, it makes me wonder why the counter lady told me a different story??]

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!! somehow i regretted why i have only ate it once!!

台湾版的蚝煎。。quite different from Singapore version.. there's veggie, oysters are bigger with a pool of sauce on top~ i ate this during my first Taiwan trip..
but it's my parent's first time.

I find that Taiwanese really love pets. You could see owners taking their pets for a walk in Xi Men Ding street... dog running along with owner riding on a motorbike (i didnt see it but my Mum said so..)Most of them look so nicely groomed, clean & sweet!

My god.. heavy downpour in the morning!!

I was worried..because i planned an outdoor trip on this day. Yah, i could change schedule but it sucks to do so cos some activities are best done on weekdays while some on weekends.

I went to the reception..
"请问今天的天气是会一直下雨吗？"
Checked weather forecast from the computer..
"今天60%会下雨，明天是20%" He then advised me not to go uphill as rainy weather will be worse uphill..

After some struggle and seeing that the weather has changed from downpour to drizzle (although the sky is still grey), we decided to continue our plan and head to. . . .

阳明山

To get to YMS, you simply have to take bus 260/Red 5 from Jiantan station. It will be a ride uphill till 阳明山总车站

We were so damn lucky!! It was only a small drizzle at YMS!! and after our first stop, the rain completely stopped..Hohohoho! I realised i have luck with the weather whenever i'm overseas :) Yes, whoever wishes to go overseas and hopes to have good weather can consider to bring me along...i welcome all sponsorship! keke..

Basically to get ard YMS, bus 108 is the choice.

Sigh, i knew in order to get unlimited rides, you can purchase a tik for NT60. Thinking that we can only get it from the bus driver, i did not bother to explore the small house besides bus 108 queue (can't even see where the front door is..). Well... the small house is the correct place. By the time the bus arrives and we realised it from the bus driver, it's too late for us to alight, get the tik and wait for the next bus... but in the end, we did not really visit all the places so the price is about the same as each ride costs NT 20.

Our first stop is 竹子湖

Actually i'm quite confused on what i can see in YMS because there are different stops and there were no detailed guide book on what i can see or look out for in each stop. As we cannot afford the time to go to all stops, i picked some stops based on my gut feeling

I expect to see 竹子 + 湖 at this stop but.... nothing....except for an observation platform and some plantations

Where is my 竹子 ???

Although we did see some 竹子 but it's not what i hope to see.. where is the whole land of 竹子?

I suspect it's somewhere which we don't know how to go..

Since there's nothing, we moved on to the next stop: 小油坑

Strong winds were blowing... i was shivering..
but it was worth it! My first view of Fumaroles!!
Have to try to block the strong smell of sulfurous gases from my nose though..

3rd Stop: 冷水坑

Yup.. it's the only thing i seen at 冷水坑. A milk lake you will love to soak in but you can't!

淡水老街

The last time i went to 淡水 was to view the lovers bridge, to eat 阿给 and to buy 铁蛋！
Don't think my parents will be interested to see a bridge soi brought them to 淡水老街 (which i missed out visiting the last time)

My dad was really hungry so we stepped into a shop and order ah gei, fishballs and mi fen. To my surprise, the mifen is so delicious!

I tot it's exclusively sold in Taiwan but i found a pasar malam stall selling this back in Singapore~ BUT the price is a difference! definitely cheaper in taiwan
(in case u are wondering what's with my look.. hmm.... i'm also not sure, hee..)

I had fried durian here too! To be precise, fried durian covered with yam strips and some other kind...

I wanted to try the fried sotong balls which was recommended in the guidebook so i went to a stall that sells sticks of sotong balls. The sotong ball is what i wanted and the auntie started to recommend the fish-cake lookalike sotong-cake besides the sotong ball.. since she strongly recommended them, i asked her for the price. Wa, expensive sia and hence i rejected her. The next moment, she was mad and started to malign me for wasting her time! "我其实是要买花枝串" i explained to her. She then threw the sotong ball to the tray in front of me!!!!!!!!! Don't know why at that pt of time i was not mad enough to reject the sotong ball.. but when i think back, i was mad at myself for not rejecting it!

Nonetheless, i got my 铁蛋！

After a long day out, hanging out near our hotel is rather a good choice.

Dinner was 阿宗面线 and 鸭肉扁. The 2 famous eatery that u die die have to eat if u go to XMD..

mobile seats are available outside 阿宗面线 already! No more standing outside the shop holding on to the hot bowl to eat!

Fyi, 鸭肉扁 sells 鹅肉 not 鸭肉.. saw it in a tour book that it did sell 鸭肉 in the beginning but business was not good thus the owner changed to selling goose meat instead.. and somehow, its business picked up and yah, i would say it's famous now. Tourists from all places flood to this place to try their 鹅肉..

My opinion? hmm..the meat is nice and tender.. it's good and worth a try :) On the other hand, my parent finds it normal and would prefers 阿宗面线 than this..

Shopping time after dinner! and... 我扫了很多双鞋子！i'm so happy to find soft covered shoes which i am able to wear without causing blisters & peeling of skin from my feet~

Sophisca 果风小铺 is an interesting shop one should visit too.. it sells interesting candies and choco.. have u ever seen marshmallows packed like a woman's pad? choco looking exactly like a condom? nurses' syringe containing malt candy? or even viagra candy?? hehe.. this is the place you should go then~ (it's located at 武昌街)

It's a difficult decision..

I have finally decided to terminate my Pacnet 512 plan

to

Singnet 6mbps plan..

It's hilarious to see the shocking face of the singtel sales rep when i told him i am using Pac Net 512 plan..hahhaaa! If he did not come knocking on my door and emphasize to me the change of fibre optic in future with all installation etc free, i will not have consider to make the switch~

Hee.. i'm excited to try out the new speed.. hopefully it did not fail me in any ways otherwise, i will feel sian again...

With the promotion temptation and feedback from my friends, i decided to sign a 1-year data charge plan with Singtel so I can surf on the go with my Jet phone..

Little did i know, it caused me more trouble than convenience!

First, i can't surf at all and had to call Singtel 3 times to check if my plan is activated. During the last call, they told me it was activated and everything was fine on their side.. so the problem lies on my hp and i better check with Samsung on that.

Fine.

Few days later, i approached Samsung Mobile shop and highlighted to them the problem i am facing. They took quite some time to check my hp...........and in the end they told me... :"i think the problem lies with Singtel, you better check with them." It's the worst answer i wish to hear after they reset my hp and tried my sim card on another hp.

PENGZ.

Although the 'seems to be expert' non-local told me this, i was wondering at the back of my mind if it has to do with the network problem. I had this thinking because i was having a hard time sending my smses out while i was sitting there waiting for my turn.. i had to step out of Samsung shop in order to send out the sms. Yes, i should have clarified with him but i can't!! I tried to convey it to him but he does not seems to understand my English V_V"

Feeling grumpy, i walked to Singtel shop which is directly opposite Samsung shop.. at the same time, i was trying to access the internet to give it a try if my assumption is correct.

BINGO.

Even before i get my queue no, a website pop into my phone!!

PERIOD???? Neh........i had only one night of happiness before i discovered...

I CAN't surf HOTMAIL & see youtube VIDEOS on my phone!!

SHIT. PROB AGAIN. (at this pt of time, i regretted signing the plan)

Yes... i knocked the door of Samsung again..(hate that place now)

Told the counter guy what happened again. He said some hp wont be able to surf some websites and hotmail is one. (WHAT more can i say??) He then advised me to push my hotmail emails to sms mailbox so i can view them on my mobile hp. (since it's the only method for me to check emails from my commonly used email.. i'm willing to try). BUT He went to the back door for abt 10 mins and came back with a disappointing answer..because he can't configure the set-up.

"I'm sorry. I can't contact our IT ppl at Causeway point. Only causeway pt has IT support ppl..."

Faint. It means i have to call samsung during working hrs and seek advise from their IT support staffs at woodland.

Luckily SCB was there or else i would have been super sian.

You know what? 30 mins ago... i felt that... i should try to look for the solution online and probably see if i can link my hotmail to other emails i have since i can check Yahoo and Gmail.

Normally i am super hardworking and don't anyhow surf net while working. But i cannot tahan and really feel like sleeping..

Today is Friday!! Which is a happy day because it's weekend tomorrow.. because it's dancing day!

I'm already at Dance Class II of Street Jazz. :) Today is my 3rd lesson and gradually, my pretty teacher will be adding more and more difficult steps which i might find it hard to follow. Last week was so funny cos' we were late and we had to squeeze into small available space at the corner. Everytime i made a turn or step back, i'm can imagine myself banging into the wall/glass! Argh, makes me feel super restricted. Hence i aim to get a good space today so i can turn, jump, step, crawl whatever FREELY!

As compared to our new dance studio at SCAPE, i prefer the old classroom. It's more spacious and the floor is not as slippery. Most imptly, it's not so far from my place!! But somehow i will get used to it bah..

A morning of work (+ hand exercise... yup! no guy in our dept so we have to move packs of rice on our own almost everyday!!)

Work ended and a early CNY reunion dinner with my 4 colleagues (a bit funnie that we still have reunion dinner despite seeing each other 5-6 days per week???!!! Hahhaa)

My colleague highly recommended the dim sum hi-tea buffet at Peach Garden which i have nv tried before..hehe.. so i was indeed quite excited to try out this new dim sum place =)

Not bad leh...

The 凤爪 is up to standard.. 虾饺也不错.. pork rib meat also not bad.. Rest of the food are also quite good. Nothing to pick on basically.

Their service hmm... good! Constantly helping us to pour tea into our cup (although the teapot is just on our table). They will also make sure the dim sum are neatly arranged for us to have easy access (steamed dim sum is with steamed dim sum while dim sum on plates are arranged tog)

Well... the bad thing is that there is no menu for us to see. It goes by the traditional olden way where waitress will push the cart ard and we will need to check with them and get the food we want from the cart via them.

Oh ya.. it's really cute they have a special ice-cream timing. The waiter will ring a bell indicating that ice-cream is available!! Then we will all line up to get our ice-cream like small girls & small boys.. hee.. reminds me of Kushinbo hourly treat :P

Dancing is hard to master...

Sigh ya, dancing is really not my forte...

Or rather any activity that got to do with multi-tasking is not my cup of tea...

*sian* I must admit that the more i know myself better, the more i realise i cannot do activities that requires coordinations with diff parts of the human body.

One of which is driving. Driving requires coordination btw leg, hand and brain. But somehow i can't make them seems to work tog! Whenever i conc on my leg, i lost concentration on my hand and brain. I do want to learn to drive one day but i'm a bit afraid i can't coordinate well esp in emergency. I will be frantic and just make the ending worse...

I have just completed my 2nd dance lesson today but as usual i faced difficulty to do both hand and leg actions at the same time... ARGH...

Unlike the 1st lesson, 2nd lesson is damn difficult... we need to pose--> bend--> stretch hand --> turn --> pose --> turn --> pose --> step step step step ---> shake...

Wa liew.. and everything happened very very fast!! Each step took less than a second and bang bang bang bang.. everyone is already at the last posture!

Lagi worse when i'm at the last row with my friend and i can't even see the teacher clearly. It's so hard to make sure i do both my hand & leg action while keeping up the speed while making sure i look sut.. urgh..

I even wonder if this is a beginner class lor! Luckily we have decided to have our own practice one day for fear of not being able to keep up with the class speed the next time (i bet the teacher will add more & more actions as the class goes on!!)

Well......... i hope to really be able to catch up and hopefully able to learn coordinating my limbs better together with my brain :) then maybe i will be able to multi-task better in other ways too!!

我佩服他。

很少在工作的领域里让我佩服的‘顾客’。

他用在‘铁窗内’的时间读出一个文凭。。

他在还没离开‘铁窗’之前就有雇主要请他了。。可惜最后没办法做这这份工。。

他没有被不顺的生活打败，反而拿起报纸，在一天之内去了7个地方应征。。

迅速地找到了另一份工作。。

不得不佩服他的态度。。他想要改善生活的决心。

有时候我们会问我们的‘顾客’：“你将来有什么计划？”

我还没问他。。他已经一一列出他一步一步的计划给我听了。

有些人怨天怨地怨别人就是不怨自己。同样的两个人但是命运也许会不一样。。为什么？我发觉态度和想法play their part too。

我祝福他可以早日经济独立、与爱人过着幸福的日子~

Interesting work environment i am in...
Different people have different mood on different days...

Putting each and everyone of our mood on the stock market and the trend will be 'volatile!'

I respect the fact that everyone has ups and downs.. but sometimes i do wonder that the office will def be a wonderful place if everyone could be cheerful and happy everyday.

The above will definitely not happen in the human world because everyone is so different...

Some are unhappy cos of work and others may be unhappy cos of love.

Some are happy cos they met a good client (like me today).. some may be happy cos they are in love..

No matter what, i hope to keep the way i am now. Do not ever let unhappiness defeat my life.

I always believe there are 1 angel & 1 devil to all matters and it really depends on whom you chose to believe in =)

Even if there are no angel (eg.when my mixer does not work yesterday)... i still chose to look at the funny part of the story (maybe what my mum said is true!) or things happen for a reason (to test test if someone is nice enuf to send my mixer for repair??...to train my arm muscle in whisking??) Hehe...............

"Yeah! I'm going to bake today!!" it's the first thought that run thru my mind when i woke up in the morning.. i have been wanting to try out the new Kenwood Patissier Mixer which Kai bought for me few weeks ago~

I took out my recipe book, prepared all the ingredients which include separating the egg white from the egg yolk, set up my new Patissier mixer and prepared to whip up a nice meringue........

I plugged the Patissier and touched the mixer...EH! how cum i can feel electric current???

Plucking up my courage, i touched the speed knob...

SHIT! electric current again!!

Praying hard that the machine might still work, i covered my hand with a cloth and pushed the speed knob... no sound, nothing.. except that current still runs ard the machine.......

天啊！！！！！！！！

why is my electronic appliance/device spoilt again?? (right after the death of my hp)

i was so damn angry and called kenwood.. all they could tell me is to bring down for repair. (yes, i know it will turn out this way but i have no place to vent my anger and helplessness on. I was hoping they can teach me a miracle way to make the machine work.)

Normal day will mean handling the normal routine of life with no ups and downs

i felt quite sian today because my hp 'concussed'!!

And the timing is just when Kai is trying very hard to call me from Japan..

Such a good timing..

It def sucks to see your hp in such a bad shape first thing in the morning. I spent about half an hr trying to switch on & off the hp in the hope of 'rescuing' him.

In the end, the repair hp uncle told me the software inside my hp must be corrupted and repair will cost $30.

I just need my hp to dong for another mth & i will be eligible to renew my contract!!

The phone contacts, schedule, fav smses, notes... all gone suddenly.

Seeing that my mum's basic hp is old and sticky, i decided to spend $70 on a new hp with fm radio for her.. (and i will borrow it for a month though)...

I always wonder why all my hps don't last for more than 2 yrs???

Erasing the bad morning and noon, i attended my colleague's wedding in the evening at Holiday Inn~

Somehow, i like her wedding..!!
I like that she arranged for 弹唱人 to sing while we are enjoying our 9-course dinner..it makes the dinner truly enjoyable as all the songs were nice..
Her Solemniser speaks in chinese and the whole process is conducted in chinese! He tries his very best to be humorous and crappy but was a bit lo so though...
They did not go from table to table to take photos.. instead they called out to the various grps to go on-stage to take phtos with them.. hmm.. very different and indeed save a lot of time........

Hehe.. i also get to see my normally do not 打扮 colleagues dressed up with make-uP!!

Too bad i wasn't able to take any nice photo due to sudden scares and moving train.. I enjoyed the ride!! Especially we were sitting on the first carriage and I was sitting at the side!!

Luckily we had some great photos with those horrible ghoul on a trail and before leaving night safari..

With 长舌鬼 on the bridge. Gosh.. we were so damn scared while crossing the bridge cos the chinese vampire and 长舌鬼 were just standing at the side of the bridge, leaving a narrow gap for all of us to cross! They did not scare us but...i was scared by 长舌鬼 after taking this photo with him!

The trail was fun! A group of youngsters were walking in front of us so we had 'protection'..hhhee..

When Night Safari was about to close at 12am, all the ghouls came back to the main entrance and we had a chance get close to them~

It's me~ with a rabbit airbrush tattoo.. i find it cute! Too bad it's gone after 4 days.

My dearest friend's bf has a coy family day carnival at Sentosa and it's was a great event. Wow... they have all kinds of booth from food to games to massage all for free! There were also fringe sea activities like kayaking & 'ball rolling?' (1 person get inside a transparent ball and roll out to the water..Chew said they look like hamsters in a ball,haha). I was fascinated that there were people walking around, taking free polaroid photos of you and your family/friend.

Sorta miss Sentosa after the short visit with Chew...(though i'm not a 'sunny' person)

This mother cried while asking me for advice..

A pathetic mother of 2 who is undergoing a divorce..

Once her flat is sold, she does not know where she could stay..

Rental flat is out of the qns because she will gain a profit after sales of her current flat..

Her only choices were to rent a place or to stay with her relatives.
Relatives.... impossible... because she is M'sian and all her relatives are in Malaysia.
which means she will have to rent a place...

She has to work or else her savings will be wiped out soon..

work.. who is going to take care of her children? Her only choice is to place them under the care of a student care centre

Sigh................ the above stories................ i have heard it quite a few times
Everytime, i sympathised with them..

it's hard to face a broken family
moreover w/o a place of your own..
coping alone with dependents....
not to mention emotional stress and loneliness that you have to face.

It's like a battle that you have to fight on your own. 'Be Strong' are the words you have to keep in mind or else what may come next could be depression --> negligence --> children who will suffer

so People.. pls be sure before you form a family... it's not just you.. it involves responsibilities for a lifetime.

A Fun Workout - what have i learnt?

Badminton is fun! I had 2 badminton sessions with my colleagues for the past 2 weeks and strained my arm for both sessions. However, it was a great workout! it's one of the best ways to make lazy bum bum me to exercise more.

We had no net for the first session so for the 2nd session, we stacked 2 piles of chairs, placed them at 2 ends and tied a 'net' in the middle with string.

(This shows how creative human can be to achieve their goal)

I was more alert in the 2nd session than the 1st. Thanks to the existence of a net.
I was also exercising more, stretching myself further, aiming each hit with the right strength so it does not fall out of line. Thanks to the existence a net which creates the scoring system.
Overall, i feel more satisfied with myself. Yes, thanks to the dearest net.

(This shows when a defined goal is set in your life, you will work harder in life)

As there were 5 of us, one person from the losing team will have to exchange position with the scorer. Sadly, i find it harder to keep count of the scores than to play badminton because i have to see if the ball goes undernet, keep counts in my head, analyse a bit and daydream a bit...

(This proves that i cannot multi-task....sobz....)

Event. . . .they never turn out to be what you expected to be.

That's why i do not like to organise events/projects as it will never turn out what is written on your piece of paper called project flow.

This is what happened today. Supposedly i should get complimentary parking tickets for the GOH first thing in the morning (Super easy task) but here say dun have, there say dun have. Yet my little piece of A4 size paper clearly instructed:" to get XXX from XXX." I wonder where and when does the communication breakdown btw their mgmt occurs.

The 2nd thing i need to do is to be carpark girl for GOH. Faint.. GOH late... super late... i did not need to do my 3rd task, have to dump to others & concentrated being a carpark girl until the desired carplate appears in front of me.

Actually the above are just egs of how thing always screwed up and turned out to be different during a project. This is when your 随机应变 comes in. GOSH... i must frankly say i do not have that kinda talent in me.

In a way, i need things to be tidy, neat and well-planned.......plan screws, i screw. Hahaa.. hate to be screwed feeling.

But i'm glad the project turned out to be a success. That's why i feel how wonderful and talented my grp of colleagues are. No matter what happened, we braved storms together and helped one another at times.

Next up will be the rice distribution project and end of year project.. Hope all of us will continue to work with a smile~

Luckily we have a guide to bring us ard, explaining to us the fauna & flora of the place...

Nice Bosses

Nice Bosses are hard to come by at times..and i'm really fortunate to have 2 nice bosses in my workplace (^_^)

No matter how our clients complain abt us, my big boss will not blame us unnecessarily. She will allow us to explain and even tell us her own experiences...

I admire my other boss too. Today she taught me how to help cases from a holistic angle which i have neglected. In our line, we have to often tell ourselves to have the heart to help so we can encourage and provide proper advice and help to them. This mindset sometimes slips past due to workload and the urgency to close the case. Through her, i realise a word of encouragement can be considered a great amt of help too =)

Besides looking at cases from a holistic angle, i must teach myself to be more patient too. Today i was pek cek with a call-in simply because of our diff definition of single-parent. After cooling down, i realise i should have been more patient and use a better tone..

I do hope i can be better in case management.. there's still so much for me to learn from my colleagues, seniors and superior =P JiayoU!

It's going to be end of the week soon and it's Friday! A day i love the best...

Yesterday was a great day as I learnt a lot =)
Xin & I signed up for a baking class.. hee.. i hope she learnt a lot like me too.
It's amazing how much i have learnt on baking..... and it's feels great to be one of the first to finish the first baking product as i was normally one of the slowest. Hehe..
Everything else was also quite smooth~

It's a pity i didn't bring my camera to shoot our lovely and tasty products~

Work wise, there were so many walk-ins this week!! My colleague says...it could be due to the one-week holiday.......

OH........

I realise ppl change as they grow up, including me.....
last time i dun like lady fingers but amazingly, i do kinda accept them now..
last time i spent a lot on food but now.. i feel the simplest food also makes me happy..
last time i used to be quite talkative to close friends but i have somehow tone down a lot...
last time i think a lot for others but i feel self-care is impt instead...
last time i neglected my parents but now.. they are gems to me..
(on a side note, my close fren used to like bread and wana open a bakery but she dun now!!)

But of course some things will nv change..
I still hate to run no matter what..
I still eat & walk slowly..
I still treat close friends with sincerity..
I still want to have happiness everyday..

Hmm.. i wonder what will change in the next phase of my life. =)

Prior to this period, i was in a state whereby i didnt really like my work env as it is too depressing..

Sometimes i guess i have to remind myself that i am actually very fortunate.. compared to the clients that i have been helping.. sometimes a case can give me such an impact that i reflected on my negative thinkings. I'm glad that i am still healthy with a job, with a family, with good friends =)

Sometimes it's just the angle you look at something. From another angle, my work env is really not bad. I have to admit that there were times that i felt 麻木assisting my clients.. but now i feel it's really a meaningful job!

Date of my Trip: 21st - 24th May 2009

This is my only holiday trip for 2009 thus i am really excited and look forward to taking a break... Since the Redang trip, i miss snorkeling...

Garfield & I woke up super early to catch the 6.30am Five Stars bus at Golden Mile Complex. Being the early bird.. i persuaded Gar to take cab earlier so we could reach Golden Mile at 6am (as told by Five Star the time to reach). In the end, the cab was fast... and we reached at 5.35am. I was 'dio' by Gar dun know how many times,hahaaa....

It was a 4 hrs bumpy bus ride to Tioman! Their road is horrible or should i say the driver is very hiong..... 晕车的人肯定受不了！

Initially, we tot that the ferry ride will be at 11am but was informed that it had been changed to 12.30pm. GOSH! Have to wait for 2 hrs.........to pass our time, we went to a nearby malay food stall to have our lunch.

Lunch was a funny experience. I was totally in a loss on how to order. People seems to scoop up food on their own plates? I looked left and right and finally a malay guy faced me and say:" nasi?" Then i nodded. He passed me a plate of rice which i assume that i will have to chooose and scoop my own food since everyone is doing the same. Fear of them charging me a lot if i scoop up a lot, i dare not scoop much. Done and i was blur blur again... where do i pay? No one was at the counter...... i gave up and went back to my seat, thinking that probably we will only pay after eating?? To my surprise, a malay lady came to us with the amt to pay written on a small slip of paper. 他们真的很随性。。

12.30pm: We boarded the ferry to Tioman~

I wanted to go updeck to view the sea but were not allowed to.. ~_~

Clear Blue Water surrounded the Jetty that we arrived at! Right in front of us were hills and along the beach were our stay - Paya Beach Resort...

however, we were both lucky and unlucky. Lucky us escaped the rain but unlucky us were unable to go according to plan due to the heavy rain that poured down right after we stepped into our chalet. Speaking of our chalet, i was not harbouring hope that the chalet will turn out great. I expected it to be quite run-down and 'sandy', probably similar to Costa Sands Resort. Wow.... it was not what i expected. The standard chalet was well-furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds. There was a tv too (although the reception is very poor with only one workable channel). Most importantly, the room is clean and we are just footsteps away from the beach! Even the white chair outside our room is clean.. I felt proud to choose this resort over Berjaya and saved $100,hehehe..The only problem we faced is the room key which Gar has to push and push and really PUSH to get the key completely into the keyhole. (Well.. they are already looking into changing the key lock to card lock)

Stuck by the rain, we stayed in our room until it was near to dinner time. We took a stroll by the beach before dinner... hmm... unlike Redang, Paya beach does not stretch out endlessly but is blocked from other resorts by jungles & huge boulders. The sands were not as soft as Redang too.. similar to East Coast but cleaner though. At least the water is still clear~

Dinner was a surprise too!! The theme of the buffet area is a ship.. there were both clean & neat indoor and outdoor seats. Most of the buffet food were quite delicious too~ On one night, there were fried squid.. on the other, there were lamb chop & chicken wings!! I regretted not eating more though Gar ate a lot..=P

After dinner, there was nothing much to do hence we had an early sleep & prepared to rise up early for a snorkeling trip on the next day.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*The 2nd DAY

After a good breakfast buffet (hee, i like their tea), all who have signed up for their snorkeling package has to meet at the jetty at 9am with their life jacket & snorkeling mask.

Happily, we dragged my bag pack with water bottle, bread, camera etc & life jacket & snorkeling mask and waited at the jetty. We could see familiar faces who boarded the ferry together with us to Tioman.

Our full board package includes a snorkeling excursion to Coral Island & Marine Park..

First stop is at Marine Park. Boy... we were shocked by the amount of big fishes swimming near the jetty!! Gar & I tried to squeeze bread in our pockets and hold it on our hands so we could enjoy feeding the fishes while in the water...... Kong bu lor!! The moment we stepped in, all the fishes surrounded us until i felt 'squeezy'. Not knowing how i could feed them underwater (fear of all the big fishes rushing to my hand and BITE it off! haha...), we threw breads in front..在那一瞬间，那些鱼全部冲向面包的方向。。

Mischevious Gar even threw the bread towards me so that fishes could rush forward to me!! Hate him for doing that! Hehe...

Somehow accident happens when i'm snorkeling. The last time i touched the barnicles on the pillar, not knowing it is untouchable. I think i ended up having itchy and swollen hands...

This time round, a fish (i guessed) created a cut on my sole.

Stupid me should not have pushed back my leg so hard when i was doing frog style swimming towards Gar... caused me pain for the rest of my swim in Marine park and for the rest of my day..

But seeing the colourful fishes is a compensation for the pain =D
It's cute to see some of them swimming in a group..

Although i was in pain and my sole was swollen, i wanted to snorkel at the next stop as i know the swim will allow me to forget my pain. At some point, i really felt like crying......

The second stop is at Coral/Reggis Island. As the name said, this place is more of seeing the coral than the fishes. Our guide has offered to lead us and so we followed him to the right side of the island... 哪里知道，美的珊瑚却在另一边!

It's a pity that i did not really enjoy myself here because
(1) I was using my energy to snorkel ard the island......
(2) I was desperately swimming against the waves to prevent myself from getting closer to the rocks...
(3) Due to the above, we were the last to board the boat... the last part where we were snorkeling towards the boat were the most beautiful area to view corals but where got time when everyone is waiting on the boat!!

Gar got a cut on his hands when he bumped into one of the big rocks. Luckily it was not swollen or else i will have felt guilty.. as he was trying his best to protect me along the swim..

We had a good wash before we had our lunch of fried rice & drumstick~

Both of us have considered to keep the snorkeling mask and continue to snorkel at the beach in the afternoon....... owing to our cuts and tiredness, we gave up the idea and decided to feed the fishes at the jetty with our remaining breads

We also trekked to the rock fall.

Late afternoon came and we proceeded to trek after we took a nap/rest (my sole is killing me + my 贫血 'attacked' me during my bath!)

After walking some wrong ways, we headed towards the right direction (thanks to the guidance of the locals) behind our resort..

Well...................the trek was a disappointment. The rock fall is not a waterfall. It is simply a stream that flows between and over the rocks. However, it is a good way to get some exercise if not for the mosquitos that have been constantly bitting us during the trek!

Seems like a bad day with fish cut and mosquitos bites? Neh... i felt the most horrible wounds are from the bed bugs we 'enountered' on our first night. While i am typing this, i could still see the bite wound on my hands... i really hate bed bugs because they are very hard to spot and their bites can last for many days !!

We ended the day with a scrumptious BBQ dinner by the beach at a pub...

We conquered a harder trek in the morning - The Bunot Trek!

It was not like any trek i had trekked before.. totally natural and rocky!!
As the locals call it - trekking through the jungle.

For me, it was adventurous and fun. But for Gar, it seems like any other NS training,haha..

At the start of the trek, there were piles of big brown shit everywhere..
"what is that?" i was wondering.
"could it be dangerous big animals?"

To my delight, we saw a family of COWS~ hehe..

So they are the shit culprits... it's interesting to see the local fencing up their residence to block off the cows from entering.

Further down the path, we went through a 2nd bridge..

and trekked on soiled jungle grd. I feel so proud of myself for completing the trek to another 无人beach!! This trek is unlike the trek i walked in Blue Mountain.. it was truly natural pathway of soil and rocks. There was even a steep pathway which i had to touched the rocks and support myself up and down. Thanks to the electrical wire and red cloth markers, we were able to follow the right trek and successfully reach the next destination.

If i'm not wrong, the deserted beach should be called Bunot Beach too. There was really no one in sight when we reached. I regreted for not bringing my swim suit along as the beach was really beautiful and serene with clear waters....

By the way, we were 'heng' again. During the trek, i could hear thunder sounds (though the sky is blue).. if it rains during our trek, i could not imagine how difficult and dangerous it will be for both of us to trek back. Rain god is good to us and only started the rain when we reached our chalet~ hehe..

I took the leisure time to read a book and sat outside our chalet... enjoying the cool and fresh air while waiting for the rain to stop.

For the rest of the day, we simply rest and relax...

(oh, i like the last day dinner buffet!! There is bbq sotong, lamb chop and chicken wings!! I wonder if it's because of the big group of NUS divers hence the difference in food..)

Time to go home! We checked out at 10am and waited till 12pm in the resort cafe..

This time round, we had the chance to sit on the upper deck which is open. I love to see the sea and enjoy the sea breeze......

8 hrs of ferry and bus ride & we were back at Golden Mile

2 more weeks to Tioman and i really waiting for that to come as i wana take a break. But first and foremost, i hope to clear most work before i go so as to have a peace of mind.

Today my mum called me to ask me to sell Sky (our dog) away.. she even asked me to sell it on the internet.

who is the one who always feed Sky chicken wing?
who is the one who always talk abt Sky?
who is the one who always help to take Sky for a walk and bath him?

If i really sell Sky, i bet the first one who cries will be her lor.......

But stupid Sky is so hard to train. I feel like giving up too.

To think i spent so much on him... his dog food.. his toy... his toilet..........his medical fee.......

PLEASE SKY............dun pee on the kitchen floor anymore..........

I feel.....

I do not have enough time for myself.

Weekend always travel past me like a rocket.

I feel a bit tired with life sometimes. Yet there's nothing much you can do but to go on living and working to support your life and your daily expenses.

I'm fine. Just talking as a tired Lingz whose legs are sore too..

Tomorrow is the last day of my intermediate baking class~ 上一堂课，我获益良多。。。希望明天的感觉和上个星期是一样的！

最sian的是星期一要作工。。

Next month i can predict to be a busy working month cos many ppl is on long holiday!
4 colleagues going to Australia. (should be 4, thanks to Jia for correction)
2 colleagues going to Taiwan.
1 colleague & our admin volunteer going to China.
While i'm going to Tioman... (ya,small peanut compared to their trip..)

I think i starting to talk rubbish on this blog again. =X

I woke up with a fright just now. . . . .

HATE IT!

My dream scared me to the extent that i didn't dare to open my eyes to face the dark even though i'm awake.

My light is on and i'm facing the computer to calm myself down. I wonder if i can still go back and have my beauty slp cos' i cannot stand having not enough sleep!

When i was very young, i used to have nightmares associating with vampires, ghosts etc... because i loved to watch horror shows. After being frightened by these dreams frequently for a period of time, i decided it's time to eliminate watching movies of horror genre.

This time round, i had a sicko nightmare.. not abt ghost.. not abt dracula.. but abt sicko ppl...
I was watching from a perspective of a pretty lady whom i dun know who..
she has a sicko husband...
cant exactly remember the earlier scenes but the last scenes was she saw the future that her husband actually tortured her and her mother (i decided i shall not go into details). Hence, she climbed out from her flat's window, amazingly jumped on all the air-cons to escape and hop on a cab to her friend's place. However, the cab driver was up to no good and wanted to drive her to somewhere ulu and. . . . . She jumped off the cab and sway sway bumped into her husband who was driving. This is where i woke up cos i will not want to continue with my dream witnessing how he tortures his wife.

If dreams can be interpreted, what does my dream imply? Few days ago, my colleagues was saying they dream this person that person (also colleagues)... i rather have such dreams just now.

NEH! I shall nt think abt it anymore! It's 4.30am... & i have to wake up at 630am. SIGHHHHH............. do you think i will be able to go back to slp with continuing the gross drama of my dream?

I am going to tell u a very horrible story that happened to me in the morning of 23 May 2008. Can you imagining your partner chomping on the following items in the morn?
- Chips
- Tim Tam
- Sausage
- Water
- Orange Juice
- Coffee

如果是我，一定拉肚子。。。

Breakfast aside..we took Bus 700 to visit Honeyworld & Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary.

Along the way to the places of attraction, we saw several big spider webs!! And then Kai became engrossed in taking spider photos............

There were spider webs weaved between each trees!

Both places of attraction were just opposite each other. We decided to go for the Live Bee Demo & Tour and forgo Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary as we had seen those animals in Dreamworld on the previous day.

As the tour starts at a later timing, we took a stroll at a nearby beach..

Second Stop :

It was a disappointment for me as I thought i could wear that suit and be inside with him. Basically we are separated by glass while he demonstrates how he uses the smoke to chase away the bees hence removing wooden frames covered with honey from the bees.

Third Stop (how they extract honey from the beehives):

After the tour, we bought about $60 worth of honey products..royal jelly is the most expensive..

We travelled back to Surfers' Paradise for our lunch at Clock Hotel

They issued us this device when we made our order. When it sounds, it means your order is ready for collection..

Our Rump Steak

We didn't plan anyting for the afternoon and had some last minute shopping. It was simply rest & relax. I could not stop laughing when Kai was trying to be funny on our way back to apt..

Well..We went back to the beach every night for night shooting of the beautiful moon we saw on the first night but the dark sky was covered by clouds for the rest of the nights..

As such, we went back to our apt to prepare for our home cooked dinner of instant noodle with mushrooms, tuna and beef soup.

-Early sleep for departure back to Singapore on the next day-

24 May 2008...

Our flight is an early flight.
The airport transport bus is already outside our apartment waiting for us but we were unable to find our room key which we were supposed to drop into a key box before checking out! I was so frantic! If the room key is not found, there will be a penalty charge!! In addition, we could not miss the transport bus to catch our early flight!

In order not to miss the bus, Kai went out to inform the bus, leaving me along in the apt to search for the room key. I repeated my search again in all the bags and suddenly my sixth sense told me that the key might be accidentally thrown into the dustbin. OH GOSH! I was right!! I found the key after rummaging in the dustbin!

What a fright in the morning......

Well, of cos there is no answer to who have thrown away the key but i suspect we must have accidentally wrap it up with the instant noodle last night and ya... it landed in the dustbin.

It reminds me of another blur incident of both of us with the key. There was a night where we left the key hanging in the keyhole outside the apartment door!! Ya.. we could not find the key too and i was again the one who discovered the key hanging outside the door. Nothing was stolen, heng ah!

Anyway, our flight was not a direct flight from Gold Coast to Singapore as there were no budget airline that flies from GC back to Singapore! To save on cost, i discovered we could travel to KL from GC and then take another later flight from KL back to Singapore... hehee.. i know i am very budget-conscious~

I have heard ppl saying that foreigners do not know where Singapore is. I finally have the chance to experience that. The airline counter staff in GC asked us if Singapore is part of Malaysia while helping us to check in.... -_-"

While waiting in Kuala Lumpur airport (P.S. KL Airport is very messy and crowded.......), a very rich uncle came to sit and chat with us. He and his whole extended family went to Macau for a holiday and stayed in Venetian Hotel! And i vaguely remembered he was the boss of a brand which i can't rem....... Anyway, he was mostly chatting with Kai while i quietly ate my food,haha..

Both of us were very tired after the long flight of 8-9 hrs in total and a holiday of 1.5 weeks......but i have brought back beautiful memories of a country which i have never step foot on.. =D

22 May 2008 (Dreamworld!!!!!!!!)

Gold Coast has mainly 3 amusement parks - Dreamworld, Movie World & Sea World.
We didn't have time to visit all the worlds so we decided on Dreamworld which we felt should be the best choice for us amongst the 3.

We microwaved sausages for breakfast.. convenience of having a kitchen~
After booking our airport transport tickets, we took TX2 to Dreamworld~

The bus passed by Australian Outback Spectacular which i have seen on tv and has wanted to go. However, after some consideration, i gave up the idea as the package is quite expensive..

The first ride we went to is the Thunder River Rapid inside Goldrush Country

Water will splash up from ard the seats as if you were travelling down river rapids. Luckily we did not kanna much water..

The above was the first ride we took.. There were other much more exciting rides around the theme park. The theme park was divided into different sections, each has its own theme..

Introducing some of the rides we took:

-->The GIANT DROP:
Level of thrill is super high..

Kai braved this alone.. hehe..
I'm not courageous enough to take such rides. Roller coasters are still okay with me but vertical drop... *shiver*

-->The Log Ride:
Lvel of thrill is so-so..

Just sitting on a log... and the log will travel up at a point and voomph! slides down fast at one pt..

--> Tower of Terror~~
Level of thrill should be horrible for me

Similar concept to Giant Drop but travel up at high speed and drop down at high speed at a curve...
Hee..kai tried this but i didn't..

Thrill level is unsure...

We didn't get to try this ride. It operates just like pirate ship, just that it 'flies' more than 180deg high and at the same time, rotate in a circle (it's not a pirate ship shape, it's a circle shape whereby people sits in a circle). Scary plus giddiness.........

Level of thrill is fun!

As you can see, the 2 handles rotates our seats in 360deg.. it gets scary at some pt when i'm high above & it suddenly plunges down. Everytime i'm upside down, i'm afraid to open my eyes,hehe...However, it's fun and we took the rides twice~

Well........ it's simply a ship that goes ard a lake inside Dreamworld. As there are fixed timings to board the ship, we rushed to board it, not knowing the ride is slow and boring. It was the same view all around the lake..

There were other rides that we took eg. The cyclone (roller coaster)..but we locked up the camera so we could just enjoy the rides.

Besides amusement rides, there was a section called 'Australian Wildlife Experience' where we viewed an Oakey Creek Farm Show, saw animals such as koalas, sheeps, pigs & got up close to kangeroos!!

all the above are animals i have not seen before in Singapore Zoo. The wombat is very cute.. it keeps walking left and then right.. not sure what he is doing.. hee..

We had close encounters with the following CUTE Animals~:

LLAMA
(The llama (Lama glama) is a South American camelid, widely used as a pack animal by the Incas and other natives of the Andes mountains. (from wikipedia))

We bought a pack of feeds..

But came to realise feeding can be dangerous!! (note the sign: Please be Careful. sometimes i may mistaken fingers for food)

So we decided to put a test on the..

Conclusion: They might eat anything so better to be careful..

Koala is another must-see animal in Australia. It's a pity i didn't get to hug any.. 不舍得付钱..hehe

Oakey Creek Farm Show

Hmm.. the main highlight of the show is shaving off the fur of a sheep. Nothing else interests me. Oh ya! Another highlight is to see Kai being invited to join in the show!

In the middle is Kai. He was forced to wear an ugly outwear with chest hair! He had to shave a fake sheep too... (i think he will prefer to do it on a real one)

Their speed of shaving a sheep is fast and quick.

Each of us get to have some sheep fur as souvenir. But i threw it away already as the fur is quite dirty, with dirt and some black piles (seems like faeces)

I spotted a rat running on top of the hut during the show! i tot that was part of the performance that they will show us! hehe..

Our last ride before we left is the bumper car... we took this ride for 2 times and really had fun bumping into one another.

We left Dreamworld at 5pm.. went to the supermarket and cooked up our Pasta, chip + ice-cream dinner at our apartment~ (By the way, lunch at Dreamworld was really expensive. A simple fast food meal will cost about 11-14 dollars...)

Today was a day of travelling.....

We woke up at 5 plus am and walked all the way from our lodging to the train station so that we could catch the early train back to St James station (and rent a car to Gold Coast).

As we have to wake up super early, the hotel has kindly prepared bread and spread for us the night before so we could have our breakfast before we leave.

I wonder if it's our 命运 to walk and walk and walk..

When we reached St James Station, we walked the familiar route to Hertz (near to our Sydney accomodation). The friendly counter staff served us and passed us the key to a White Hyundai Auto car. Each of us paid about AU$200.

As it was already quite late when we reached Hertz so we hurriedly rush to the carpark to get the rented car and embark on our journey to Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise at about 11am...

Starting our journey.. will be driving through the Harbour Bridge~

Is this considered a lake/river/creek? Both of us tot we could see the ocean but all we seen are such views..but of cos' they are nice to view too.

We didnt stop for quite long as we need to rush our way to Surfers' Paradise(SP) before it gets dark. We stop by to buy burger to eat while he drives..

Everywhere looks so relaxing unlike Singapore where everywhere looks busy..

Oh ya... the helpful yet not so helpful device essential for us to find SP:
We had to depend entirely on him for direction as our maps were limited. This device is so cute.. he led us to ulu ulu route which we at first believe shld be short cut. Later on, we highly suspect he led us to a detour instead of short cut!

Anyway, we were on the road most of the time so there wasn't much photos to share.

Once again, i have to credit Kai for the whole journey from Sydney to Gold Coast.. because he was the only person driving for the whole day from 11am to midnight!! *_* Yes, i'm guilty for tiring him like that but i have no choice as i do not have a licence. It was amazing we could reach GC at midnight as the journey was really long and towards the end, Kai was super super tired.

However, i'm not entirely useless~ hehe..
(1) I didn't sleep thruout the whole journey! I aspired to pei him 因为有难同当！他不能睡，我又怎么可以睡呢？
(2) Upon his request, i read to him all the speed limit that we drove by.. so he is alert and can hear my sweet voice constantly, hahaha

So i played a vital role to keep him awake thruout the journey. It's a hard role but i did it =X

This is an entirely new route that we have nv tried before (obviously) and we were afraid it could be dangerous to drive in late night (we dun know how safe it is to drive on Australian roads at night). However, we have no choice but to keep moving forward till we reach our next accommodation.

But i love the entire journey because it was exciting and fun. Fun to try out a whole day driving like this. Fun to just simply sit beside him thruout the journey. Fun to experience adrenaline rush whenever GPS directed us to a dark road with limited or no lighting. Fun to have seen 2 small kangeroos and 1 squirrel along the road when we were driving along dark roads.

Yes.. this was how dark it is at times. Thanks to the GPS, he loves to lead us to dark dark roads..

Once we reached our apartment in GC, both of us were so tired that we hit the bed immediately after our bath...

Since we had some time before we need to return the rented car, we drove around and along the coastal line..stopping at various parts of the beach..

I missed the Pacific Ocean i saw in Taiwan and I saw it again in Australia, Gold Coast~

The weather looks great right? Ya.. it's a big contrast from where we came from. From shivering cold to warm windy weather..
Although the sun is shining, there are strong winds blowing hence there are not many people swimming or surfing in the water as the water is damn damn cold..

Surfers!! Surfers' paradise must of cos have surfers~

This is not along the coastal beach but something like an inland beach..

This is absolutely a dream place to live in..

Well, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful white car who has been thru thick and thin with us the day before..

We walked around the small town before heading back to our apt & hit the beach for sun-soaking...

Back at the beach..shedding our jeans and replaced it with shorts~

Testing how cold the water is.. in the end we didnt get into the water because it is really cold! Although there was sun, i was still wearing my cardigan on cos the wind just keep blowing...

I told kai to take this photo as I like the effect that the rock makes when the waves hit the coast and flows back..

Sparkling seawater is the prettiest..

Since we could not swim in the water, we played with our camera and took very funni photos..

Conclusion: I think i can pose better than Kai, hahaha

I was very sad towards the end of our beach-ing afternoon.........
Because I spoilt my camera......
Silly me dropped my camera onto the sand while happily covering Kai with sand.....
The lens was open.....
Sand got into the front and side of the protruding lens..

Anyway, i have bought another new Camera but i still feel the old one is really a good camera.
Tis makes the trip more expensive than usual =S

Nonetheless, it was already 2pm and we have not had our lunch yet! we quickly went back to our apt, cleaned up and rushed out for our lunch at a local fast food.

After some groceries shopping for our dinner & next day breakfast, we went back to put our things and headed out at night to Surfers' Paradise Night Market

I love the night mkt as some booth was selling unique hand-made items..Both of us were in love with this hand-painted souvenir that we each bought one for ourselves. This is mine:

We also saw lovely koala bears wearing grad hat scented with lemongrass smell..

We took a stroll on the cool, dark and peaceful beach after all the shopping. It was a night with clear sky and moon. (",)
